The RYC Board of Directors welcomes your inquiry regarding membership in our club.
Before concerning yourself with the monetary costs of membership, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the club’s concept of operations.
Ours is an incorporated entity with 100 regular members who share equally in the operation of our facilities.
As a condition of membership: EACH YEAR, MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO CONTRIBUTE APPROXIMATELY 80 HOURS OF PERSONAL TIME TO THE CLUB AS PART OF THEIR CONTINUED MEMBERSHIP.
This includes:
- participation in our Docks-In and Docks-Out full day (7 AM – 4 PM) work parties on a Saturday in May and October. Attendance at these work parties is mandatory for continued membership.
- performing 5 eight-hour security duty shifts spread out over the May-October season. Members will do;
- two midnight to 8AM shifts;
- one or two 8AM-4PM shifts; and
- one or two 4PM-midnight shifts.
- performing 24 hours of work-share (cleaning, painting, building/renovating land and water facilities etc., grass cutting, adjusting dock chains, maintaining the storage compound, public affairs etc.). Work-share is supervised by various Club Directors. Work-share is mandatory for continued membership.
Note: Commercial activities are not permitted at the club. Members may not use the facilities for commercial purposes.
If you are applying for membership, please print the application form. Fill it in and enclose a $20.00 non-refundable cheque made out to “The Rockcliffe Yacht Club”.

Initiation Fee (One-time charge)
$1,200 – Payable upon approval of your membership
Membership (recurring)
$160 – Active member
$120 – Out-of-port member
$40 – Associate member
Facilities Fees
Dock space
$175 – minimum, plus $10/ft. over 20ft
Payable in full by May 1st.
Boats larger than 33ft., (including protrusions fore and aft) are not accommodated at a dock but may use a mooring ball.
Mooring ball
$100
Member provides own harness.
Large (40ft.) or heavy displacement boats require special consideration by RYC officers.
Dinghy dock is provided.
Other fees
Dinghy (mooring users exempt) – $25
Canoe/Kayak – $25
Dry sail/Drip slip – $100
– can be stored in compound at no cost
Storage Compound
(Available to members only)
Winter
– Minimum fee is $110 under 21ft
– Boats larger than 21ft., rate is based on the size of the boat.
Calculated as square footage/footprint of boat (length x beam; not including mast overhang or trailer tongue).
– Rate is $0.72 per square foot.
Summer
– Minimum fee – $75 for trailer/cradle without boat
– Minimum fee – $110 for boat on trailer/cradle under 21ft.
– Boats larger than 21ft., rate is based on the size of the boat.
Calculated as square footage/footprint of boat (length x beam; not including mast overhang or trailer tongue).
– Rate is $0.72 per square foot.
Upon approval, and provided space is available, members owning more than one boat may store these additional boats at increased rates.
We can be found at 1505 Airport-Marina Road, just look for “Airport-Marina Road” on the North side of the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway just east of the Canada Aviation Museum. All visitors must report to the security officer on duty.
